About Jordan Shapiro
Jordan Shapiro is the President and General Manager, Quantum Networking, Sensing & Security at IonQ (NYSE: IONQ), the world’s leading quantum computing company. He is responsible for the vision and strategy for IonQ’s suite of networking, sensing, and security products, from technology development to commercialization with customers, and leads strategic transactions for the company, including IonQ’s acquisition of Vector Atomic.
Shapiro joined IonQ from New Enterprise Associates (NEA), one of the world’s largest global venture capital firms, which helped launch IonQ in 2015 and supported it becoming a publicly traded company in 2021.
At NEA, Shapiro was an investor on the Technology Team focusing on enterprise and consumer technology investments. He led investments, served on boards, and supported the fundraises and exits of NEA portfolio companies including IonQ, Sprout Social (NASDAQ: SPT), Tempus (NASDAQ: TEM), Onshape (acq. NASDAQ: PTC), and Catalytic (acq. NYSE: PD).
Prior to being named to his current position, Shapiro had served as a company Vice President since joining IonQ in 2020, responsible for the company’s Financial Planning and Analysis, Corporate Development, and Investor Relations. In this position, he led Corporate Development for various IonQ acquisitions, including Entangled Networks, Qubitekk, ID Quantique, Lighsynq, Capella Space, and Oxford Ionics.
Shapiro was a Schwarzman Scholar in the inaugural class and holds a B.S. in Bioengineering and an M.S. in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University, where he was a Mayfield Fellow, Class President, and Convocation Speaker. He is located in Chicago.
