Last month, we had the privilege of participating in the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2025, held in Abu Dhabi from February 17-21. IDEX is one of our favorite events each year, bringing together industry leaders, military officials, and technologists to explore the latest advancements in defense technology. This year, we unveiled our latest hydrogen-powered unmanned aerial system (UAS), the Raider.

Unveiling the Raider: A New Era in Hydrogen-Powered UAVs

The Raider is a state-of-the-art hydrogen-propulsion UAS designed to meet the evolving demands of modern operations. Building upon the work we did to engineer our H2D family of drones, we designed the Raider for 24/7 uptime and field-ready modularity. Thanks to hydrogen power, the Raider can stay in the air for   over 10 hours and support payloads up to 50 lbs. We are already hearing feedback from operators that it will be a critical asset in missions ranging from contested logistics to tactical operations to surveillance.

Engaging Conversations on Hydrogen Technology

During the conference, our booth became a focal point for discussions on new energy solutions for defense technology. Industry experts, military officials, and technologists stopped by to connect with our team about the potential of hydrogen and its unmatched power for a variety of missions. As I’ve highlighted before, hydrogen can be generated onsite, reducing fuel transportation needs and enabling operations in the most remote and complex terrains.

Looking Ahead

The positive reception of the Raider and the enthusiastic discussions on hydrogen technology gave our team fresh energy to continue our trajectory of engineering advances.

As we reflect on our time at IDEX 2025, we’re inspired by the shared vision of a defense industry that embraces innovation and removes obstacles to the best solutions for the warfighter. I’m confident this is just the beginning.
